Learn the Monastery with Jaïra Joy, a relaxed hip hop step built around circular arm movements, groove and body coordination. You'll start by learning the basic Monastery, focusing on the footwork, shoulder rolls, hip movement and timing that give the step its unique feel.

Once the foundation is in place, Jaïra introduces three variations that explore different rhythms, arm patterns and levels. You'll learn how to switch between singles and doubles, create larger movements and add more texture to the step while keeping the groove intact.

By the end of the class, you'll have a solid understanding of the Monastery and several ways to adapt it for freestyle. You'll also learn how to play with angles, body positions and musicality to make the step feel more personal and expressive.
