Lorenzo: all about powermoves (breaking)

Are you ready to learn powermoves? In this guide Lorenzo teaches you about the basics and foundation of powermoves. From backspin to windmill, from flare to halo’s, Lorenzo’s got you covered.

 

This class consists of three parts:

Part 1 (10 minutes)
Powermoves are a key element of breaking, with influences from gymnastics and the Brazilian fight dance capoeira. Lorenzo will teach you the fundamentals of a basic powermove called ‘the backspin’, where you rotate on your upper back. Make sure you’ve got enough space to move around when following this class.

Part 2 (6 minutes)
In part 2 of Lorenzo’s powermove guide, he will teach you three powermoves: the headswipe, the windmill, and the halo. Make sure you’ve got enough space to move around when following this class.

Part 3 (5 minutes)
In the final part of this class you will learn the basic steps towards learning a move we call the ‘flare’. Keep in mind that this move needs months of regular repetition to learn. After the flare, you will learn how to combine different powermoves.
